Writing is one of the most important factor of communication. A good writer can communicate easily with the reader and deliver his point of view seamlessly. In teaching particularly teacher has many ways to develop the students' ability of writing. For example in secondary school or(Intermediate/ Upper intermediate) students, teachers almost give them an argumentative writing task. Argumentation is the task which let the students to set their ideas in logical series to persuade the others to accept what they believe. Depend on what it mentioned previously, is it useful to use argumentative writing task or NOT?
At secondary level we may have to focus on more on the accuracy and communication skills in order to prepare them to write a long texts, after that they may write a letters, composition and emails.
errors such as spelling, grammar and punctuation should be taken on the students account. Simply because some times errors can change the writer opinion if he does not correct it.
Additionally, argumentative tasks will develop the students' thinking when they try to analyse the given topic and discuss it with each other. This kind of essay will Facilitate the writing process because they know the reason of the writing. As we are still learning language, in writing skill we need to know the reason or the purpose of our writing to write in effect way.
*The main factors should the teacher focus on while he teach an argumentative writing task:
1- Read the question.
Read the question and decide what type of essay it is.
2- Underline the key words.
Under line the key vocabulary and try to find synonyms to paraphrase the topic.
3- Get ideas.
decide if you are For or Agains the idea ( it is better to take both sides).
4- Decide Layout.
This step means your style (the frame) of writing starts wit Introduction-body1-body2(maybe more)- conclusion.
5- Write.
This is the the last step which is starting writing, but not least because you are start to take into your account to focus on the writing aspects such as, tenses, punctuation, spelling and etc.
