The review/consolidation of Modules 1-3

The review/consolidation of Modules 1-3

Nawaf

First of all, I thank all of my teachers and colleagues in TKT course about their efforts inside classroom.
The modules 1,2 and 3 are difficult but need to a suitable study to pass the final exam.
Module one is very long and has alot of information which need efforts and I was not good on 1st Mock exam. So, I need to study and review it again by individual studying.
Module two was fantastic to me because I spent a lot of efforts to understand the module and practice on the TKT book. Therefore, I have got a real motivation to do the next mock exam very well.
Module three is understood in some units but I need to review all the units again and I will ask my teachers or my colleagues to explain any ambiguous information or term.

Most of the errors appear in vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar whither from students or teachers. These errors always happen in writing or speaking and the two websites, which mention in the TKT book, explain all of these errors and help teachers to deal with it correctly during their work inside the class. In my opinion some of errors I did not except it because I think they will come by the time. As a teachers, we must understand these errors and figure out the suitable resolves form these below websites to get a successful result from our teaching.

The PPP lesson

NAWAF ALHARTHI

Presentation, Practice and Production (PPP)

Most teachers plan three phases in their lessons according to the PPP model of Presentation, Practice and Production.
During Presentation, new language is presented perhaps as a grammatical pattern or more frequently within some familiar situations. During this presentation phase the teacher is often very active and dominates the class doing more than 90 % of the talking.
During Practice, the new language item is identified, repeated and manipulated by the students. Unless the teacher is using pair work or a language laboratory ,the teacher also dominates this phase of the lesson occupying more than 50 %of the talking in class.

During Production, the students attempt to use the new language in different contexts provided by the teacher. The PPP model works well provided that your syllabus is based only on giving students “thin slices” of language one slice at a time. The PPP model does not work nearly so well when teaching more complex language patterns beyond the sentence level or communicative language skills. Another basic problem with PPP is that it is usually based on segments of the one hour-lesson. In this way lessons are designed with a single focus.

TKT MOCK EXAM MODULE 1

NAWAF ALHARTHI
TKT,MOCK EXAM , MODULE 1 , REVIEW

The module 1 mock exam was new experience to me and it was not difficult, but it needs to study well before the test and prepare a good plan before do it. Actually, I didn’t do well on the exam for two reasons which I will mention it below. The first reason, I was absent in the review day because I was very sick and I didn’t attend the class with my colleagues who they got important improving during that class. As everyone knows the importance of review which gives significant information and high quality of studying. That review was effective positively on their performance during the exam. Also, I consider that I am not lucky with that day for becoming  absent. On other hand, the mock exam was a background information test which I learned inside the class. I was hurry to finish the exam without doing revision for make sure of my answers and correct the mistakes. The big problem that I faced after the exam is to correct some statements for my colleagues and when I go back to see my answers I found it was not correct and I did not use my knowledge in the exam. It is not acceptable reason if I said that I was not fine because still sick and I didn’t very well in that exam.If I want to explain the study for exam, I was studying with my room-mate  the samples of the exam which is in the TKT book. I was good during that sample but I felt everything become different and strange inside the mock exam. Therefore, I decide to re-studying again the module 1 in the house to make sure that I will get band four in next mock exam or the official TKT test. I started to put study plan which I explain how will I study the module 1 without make any disturbance with other modules.

TEACHING WRITING

NAWAF ALHARTHI

Teaching writing:
This video explains how the learners improve their skills by writing. they have to be interesting with topics that give them an opportunity for creating and improving. That’s means students write much they before and that is very useful for them. In fact, writing in notebooks is one of significant level of writing which help student to exchanges his/her experiences with other student for evaluating what he/ she wrote. That give enough space for learners to be confident and in safe environment. The educational environment makes student not comfortable for any task they have to write about. So, the students' society will be more motivating inside the range of thoughts, ideas and experiences of the students.

WRITING WEBSITE(1)

NAWAF ALHARTHI
Writing website (1)
27/05/2014

There are many problems that face students during their writing and they don’t know how to avoid it easy. some of students think that they need to buy many books to improve them in writing. In fact, they have to know their weaknesses to improve their writing.

In the website writefix is one of the best websites which help the students to write an easy and gives them the steps for making their writing clear and perfect. The website has a great ideas how to start any essay and the ways of organizing your writing. Moreover, it helps to read a lot of samples which give the students the abilities to write well about any arguments they should write about. Some vocabularies need to know their synonyms and how the students paraphrase the question easily.

In my opinion, this website is very significant for student who has a problems in essays writing. So by using this website, I think the weakness will fade away by practicing and the improvement will be shown inside the students writing.
