Today's lesson reflection

Today we discussed some important topics. one of these topics is differences between L1 and L2 learning process. When we learn the first language we are likely to learn it in a different context and in different ways from when we learn a second language. We are also likely to be a different age. L1 learning starts when the learner is a baby, continues through the early years of childhood and lasts into adolescence for some kinds of language skills, e.g academic writing. L2 learning usually starts in primary school and/or secondary school. It may also start or continue in adulthood.

we also came across many several differences such as cognitive skills, motivation, learning style and interaction. we also discussed the difference between abstract and concrete language.

it was a very interesting issues to address and I benefited a lot from today's lesson.

Best regards,

Yahya..

  1. Also, one of the studies in this field says that anyone can learn L2 as the same process as L1 has been learnt which is by observing and listing?
What is you opinion on this study?

  2. Great job Yahya.
L1 has special motivation by their families and friends during childhood period.
