In our real life we listen normally for many purposes so, in real life it is un usual to listen without having some idea of what they are going to listen for example, in radio or TV. It is one of the harder skill for second language learners because it has a lot of key factors which play a major role in their understanding such as speed with un familiar sound, word and structure. As result of these problems there are three ways to introduce your listening skill in the class.
Pre- teaching key words.
in this book the writer start with key words that will give a general ideas to the students about what they are going to listen. The topic was about Sport therefore, he introduce some vocabularies such as, football, skiing and gym. This is a very important step which can keep the students a wake and Waiting eagerly for the listening text.Also this way will activate their knowledge about sport in their life. furthermore, the book put a discussion exercise which will also give the students an opportunity to speak and use the given vocabularies and their own words about sport. Predicting here will be located as a result of their discussions. in this book the students are going to listen to an authentic listening text which from Scottish news paper.
while-listening Task.
This step is valuble for adult and beginner learner s, clearly when teacher ask students to take notes by filling gabs or matching exercise. For instance, in this book the writer ask students to complete a survey.
Post- Listening Task.
This kind of activity is the last step which let students to share their knowledge depend on what they listened,and use the new words and facts to write a short survey typical to the previous one. After that discuss with partners about the importance of spots.
In conclusion, provide an authentic text will make the students use what they listen in their life and will motivate them to listen enthusiastically. Also they will adapt the real expressions and words to use them widely in their real life speech.
